God Arranges Everything for Our Salvation
I have chosen not to bless my monks, nor my spiritual children, to take the vaccine. I do not think any vaccine will prevent anyone from getting Covid, and I have read with increased horror as the evidence has become increasingly clear within the scientific community that this vaccine is in reality causing the spread of this virus within the human community, while preventing natural immunity.
The evidence is clear that those doctors and scientists who see the vaccines as unproven, and even dangerous long term, are being silenced by their colleagues within the scientific community. For those who understand science, we know that science is not like history, for it is ever changing as more is discovered. Yet we have certain individuals within the scientific community suppressing dissidence, crushing anyone who would disagree with their take on the pandemic.
We Orthodox know that God sometimes visits upon us wars and plagues as a way of calling us out of our darkness and sin. We know that God arranges such things as a way of waking us up to that which is of eternal value.
It seems clear to me that this world-wide pandemic comes from the Evil One. Nothing in my lifetime has caused such fear among the masses of people, world wide. This season that normally leads to gatherings of family and friends around the table in celebration of the Nativity of Our Salvation, has instead seen the closure of churches, and families banning their unvaccinated members from joining them in celebration. It has seen clergy closing their churches out of fear, not remembering that it is the gathering within our churches that has alway brought about the healing that is so needed during times of trial.
Saint Luke the Surgeon, Archbishop of Simferopol, a bishop that the Soviets chose not to execute because he was considered one of the finest surgeons in Russia, and was therefore needed by the Soviet State, recommended Holy Water as the cure for what ails us.
“Drink Holy Water, the more often, the better. It is the best and most effective medicine. I’m not saying this as a priest, I’m saying it as a doctor, from my medical experience.”
At seventy-six years of age, I am no spring chicken, as they say. Yet I have chosen to trust God to keep me safe during this pandemic. I therefore add holy water to every glass of water I drink during the day, and I anoint myself with the miraculous myrrh of the holy icon of the Theotokos of Hawaii, every day.
Additionally, I consume the Holy Body and Blood of my Saviour during the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, with the full knowledge that in doing so I am receiving healing of body and soul. If I should die from a virus that was intentionally introduced by the godless leaders of China, with the intention of conquering the West, and creating a one world government, so be it.
In my weakness, I pray on a daily basis that the Lord will never let me deny Him, even unto my last breath. I put my trust in God, and not in the “scientific and medical” authorities who are hell bent on controlling everyone, including church leaders. I trust only in the mercy of my Lord.
We monks are grateful that we have an opportunity to serve the Divine Liturgy and partake of the Body and Blood of Christ, yet we also realize that many others are not so fortunate. Many churches have closed their doors to the faithful, fearful that the Corona virus will infect their people if they should gather before the Throne of God, in worship. In truth, we should only fear God.
I would conclude by pointing out that the mandatory and dictatorial push for the vaccine by governments and companies around the world is clear evidence that this vaccine is of the devil. Let us stand strong in our resistance to the godless authorities, and let us renew our commitment to Jesus Christ, and to the eternal truth that resides within the Life of the Church.
With love in Christ,
Abbot Tryphon
There is a point I wish to clarify regarding my article, “A Gift From God”. I strongly believe that it must be up to each individual to make a decision as to whether to receive the vaccine. I am not a clairvoyant, nor do I see myself as having the inner knowledge, nor the authority, to tell anyone whether they should be vaccinated or not. I stand firmly that the decision to receive, or not, must be a decision each person makes. No government, or Church authority, should dictate anyone to be, or not to be, vaccinated. This certainly includes this lowly monk. With love in Christ,
Abbot Tryphon

As a new guy, I for one appreciate the top on Holy Water. I’ve heard Fr Stephen DeYoung talk about one of it’s uses as blessing / bringing things into God’s intended purposes. I’ll have to look into this more. -Just filled up my first bottle at my local parish yesterday too.
Wow. Thank you, Abbot Tryphon. This has been such a long, hard time, and we have not felt surrounded by people who saw what we see. It is so heartening to read this.
Thank you for your stance Father Tryphon and for speaking out . It is important to know where and with whom one can trust and turn in these times. 🙏🏼
Blessings from Canada, Fr. Tryphon. I pray that other jurisdictions will wake up and stand up against the societal fear-mongering and division that is taking place. We don’t need a vaccine, we need repentance.
May God bless you, Abbot Tryphon for your stance. I really wish more Orthodox leaders would do likewise.
Thank you Fr Tryphon. Our family has felt similarly about all this. It lifts my heart to know we are less alone.
Thankyou for this, Father Tryphon. You have the love and support in Christ of a great many of us and our parishes, I am sure. It is long past time for boldness in declaring our faith, for fearlessness in the face of the demons, and those who serve them, and to renew and reboot our faith! Those of us who closed our churches must admit to ourselves that, if even just for a short while - we believed that Heaven and Earth are not actually joined together and both present in the Divine Liturgy, and we must admit to loss of faith in the power of the Holy Spirit over a virus created and released (deliberately or not) by the national socialist regime in China.
I have come full circle in this, and pray daily for forgiveness for my temporary sin of unbelief, and acceptance of unbiblical restrictions on our ability to celebrate and partake of the Holy Mysteries. I encourage all believing Orthodox Christians to do the same.
I will have no fear of death, nor anything else, while in the House of the lord, and approaching the Throne of Almighty God. Christ has already smashed death to pieces - what fear need we have of this?
Fr, How should we treat those within our parish who have taken the vaccine? I know the answer may seem obvious to some, that we should still treat them with love, which I understand and agree with but I am finding myself wanting to avoid them as much as possible out of concern of them possibly getting us sick. Our family has been sick more times within the past several months than ever before! Is this something I should just accept and deal with as it comes? Thank you Fr.

Thank you, Father, for this concise explanation for your bold stand against the tide of fear. Thank you for protecting the monks under your care from the false gospel of scientism and affirming their obedience to the will of God for their health. The Church is not without witness even under this intense and demonic assault. After all, the gates of hell will never prevail against her. All glory to our God and Healer, the Blessed Trinity!
I started off at a church where where almost everyone in the church is vaccinated. Our priest dropped dead at the alter getting ready for the divine litergy of myocarditus just 10 days after getting the vaccine. I personally believe he died From the vaccine. I tried to warn him of the dangers of these vaccines but he told me that I needed to trust more. The retired priest who is serving the litergy at the church told me that I was in sin if I did not take the vaccine. I am brand new to the orthodox church And I am trying not to be judgmental I'm trying to pray for the vaccinated that God would protect them from these terrible side effects. This seems like it is such a divicive issue, at least in the oca where where there seems to be only a small remnant resisting this insanity. I get this distinctive feeling that we are going to be persecuted by our fellow believers for not going along we're not going along with this vaccine agenda.
Thank you Fr. Tryphon. I personally receive much comfort and hope from your bold witness to Christ's truth during this time of mass hysteria. Thank the Lord.
Dear Father (Abbot) Tryphon, Please bless me.
I used to listen to your short but sweet daily offering on a regular basis while driving to work each morning, until it was so unfairly taken off of Ancient Faith Radio. I am so glad to have found you again in this blog, Patristic Faith. Thank you so much for fearlessly standing up for Truth. May God bless you and all the brothers at your monastery.
True indeed. I have experienced the healing of holloy water during my entire life. I have seen ppl healed from cancer, HIV, paralysis, blindness, diabetese etc... chronic diseases using holly water. Thank you Abbot Tryphone.
